We hope you all are staying warm and taking care of yourselves mentally, emotionally and physically in these challenging times.

                  

We hope to offer some inspiration and to inform you about upcoming opportunities of the Ashoka Europe Fellowship Program.

 

Our two upcoming offers:

 

1- We are launching our new Hybrid Social Finance online course! With the recent troubles (COVID-19) turning our organizations upside down, affordable finance is more in the focus than before. It is led by Ashoka Social Finance team, including our dear colleague Mark Cheng, pioneering expert and impact investor, who will share best practices from across Ashoka. It's a chance to deep dive into your business model, diversify your revenue stream and investment strategy. You'll also prepare your investment proposal and pitch during this online workshop. Heads-up: deadline to apply is this week on November 9 st, 2020.

2- We are inviting you to The Elders Council 3rd Webinar! With grateful acknowledgment to the Beatles famous song “When I’m Sixty Four” this webinar is all about the practical matters of ensuring that you have financial security after your departure from your organisation.

  • The Elders Council Webinar, October 26, 2020: We are focusing on the concerns that the older person has as they enter into retirement or an alternative way of earning sufficiently to be independent of their own organisation if they so choose. For more information and the application form, please click here and read further below.

Opportunities coming up!

Hybrid Social Finance deep dive coming up!

With the recent troubles turning our organizations upside down, affordable finance is more in the focus than before. We are offering this in-depth online workshop to support you. It is led by Ashoka Social Finance team, including our dear colleague Mark Cheng, pioneering expert and impact investor, who will share best practices from across Ashoka. It's a chance to deep dive into your business model, diversify your revenue stream and investment strategy. You'll also prepare your investment proposal and pitch during this online workshop.

When: November 25 - 30 and December 1, 2020 (8.30- 10.30am CET)

News from the Ashoka Europe Fellowship Program

Systems Change online course kicked-off with 77 participants!

We have started the third round of our Systems Change Online Course on October 2nd and we are hosting 39 Fellows & Staff, 7 ASNs, 20 Ashoka Staff, 1 Changemaker School, 2 Affiliated Changemaker, 8 Change leader and in total 77 changemakers from all around the world! We thank our Ashoka teams of teams and course participants for their contribution for grater social impact.

Wellbeing Lab Series kicked-off with 87 participants!

On October 15th, we paused our daily routine, focused on our emotional, physical and mental states and exchange experiences and ideas about how wellbeing shapes our leadership. Special thanks to participants who invest in building resilience and the capacity to be well in these diffucult times and thanks to Ashoka teams of teams from LATAM to Africa who encouraged their fellows, fellow team members and colleagues to participate.

Attend the Ashoka Changemaker Summit  Nov. 17 - 19

Ashoka is hosting a global online summit – the Ashoka Changemaker Summit –with the theme “Rediscovering Certainty” (even in times of crisis). The summit connects the largest network for system-changing social innovators with business and philanthropy leaders. With 100 sessions and 280 speakers – it’s all about social innovation, strategies for systemic social change and the question: How we can build a world where everyone can be a changemaker?

Changemakers United Africa

As a response to the Coronavirus crisis, Ashoka has scouted its network and identified 16 social entrepreneurs working on projects specifically targeting the current challenges triggered by the crisis in Africa. These changemakers will receive tailored support and expertise focusing on scaling up the impact of the solutions. The Changemakers United Online Summit will be the most visible milestone of the partnership in Africa, connecting our Ashoka Fellows and Young Changemakers with our wider community. We hope that these impactful and critical projects inspire millions of African's to be changemakers to shape African societies as resilient, sustainable and equitable ones.

Let’s reimagine the future of education!

Shaping the Futures of Education 2050, in dialogue with UNESCO will explore ways to reimagine how knowledge and learning can shape the future of humanity and our planet. The session will be focused on 4 areas identified by UNESCO: Human and planetary sustainability, citizenship and participation, knowledge production, access and governance, work and economic security and broad purposes of education.

Tech To The Rescue has an offer for

civil society organisations that need technological support to scale up their positive impact.

Ashoka Poland, in cooperation with founders of 11 tech companies from Europe, created  a platform connecting technology companies with non-governmental organizations. They are piloting their "matchmaking process” and looking for Ashoka Fellows who have an idea for a digital product supporting their mission and leveraging their impact. There is also an opportunity to match them with the professionals who would implement the concept on a pro bono or low bono basis.

Are you working on social and economic sustainability? We have an offer for you.

One of the donors of Ashoka Italy, Enel Group seeks social entrepreneurs working on social and economic sustainability. If you are working on digitalizing scalable recovery plans for local markets or developing connectivity or digitalisation to overcome social inequality you can apply to their challenges.
