Collaboration – a term mentioned often and instinctively understood to be necessary for achieving systems change. How can governments unlock social innovation to achieve the SDGs?

Governments seek solutions to address the SDGs efficiently and effectively. Social entrepreneurs provide such solutions and in fact often depend on collaboration with governments to scale their solutions and achieve systems change.  However, collaboration between governments and social entrepreneurs can be very challenging. As a result, both sides are struggling to achieve their goals and fall short of the impact they can create. Openness of processes, access to information, funding models, skills development, and adoption of solutions are some of the key challenges we observe.  Our latest collaborative report with Catalyst 2030, McKinsey, several governments, and key sector partners, offers a set of practical recommendations for how government actors can enable effective collaboration with social entrepreneurs and accelerate progress towards the SDGs. Join to learn about these findings and to hear the perspectives and experiences of government representatives, multilateral organisations, and social entrepreneurs.
